Alexy was a pleasant child, her mother having abandoned them when she was but a babe, Alex was raised by her father and ultimately spoiled beyond hope. As she grew into adolescense she began to train with her father in the fields near their home, learning to defend herself if necessary, her father being somewhat of a diplomat put a target on their small family from opposing factions. Her father having met a woman he became fond of, decided to get remarried and move her and her rotten daughters into their home. From the start things were tense at best, the daughters taking over her bedroom since it was larger and they could not be seperated, Alex was moved to the basement, which caused some resentment. They thinking themselves better than she, constantly taunted and teased her. Alex let the frustrations build over time, never letting on how much she truly hated them. As for the mother, she is cut from a mold that hopefully was broken. Berating Alex time after time and forcing her to be a servant when her father was away on business, she beat Alex when something was not done to her liking, or just because she felt like it. Her father, away often, knew nothing of what went on behind his back. A note came to her home one dreadful day, announcing that her father was attacked on the road and killed. Alex became closed to all emotion refusing even to mourn. Only now later in life does she allow herself to laugh occasionally. Upon the death of her father, now being an orphan, things became worse at home and the beatings became more severe. Unable to take anymore, Alex late one night stole into her stepmother's rooms and using the skills bestowed upon her by her father, swiftly took the woman's life with a smooth flick of her wrist slicing her throat with a keen blade. Feeling no remorse, she stood above the corpse and spat. "I hope you rot in hell you evil bitch". Moving into her former room, Alex then dispensed with the sleeping daughters, slicing through their throats so as not to wake anyone with their screams. Idly moving around her home, she waited until near dawn, having packed her few necessities including her blades, she stepped out into the chill morning air, leaving a trail through the dew on the grass that would soon dissipate.
Knowing someone would be looking for her, Alex left for the city, stealing into the sewers so as to travel unseen. Sleeping one night in the damp area, she was awakened with a furious pain in her leg. Pulling up her pants she noticed two small puncture wounds that were rapidly turning red and swelling. Looking around she noticed a rather large web and surmised that she had been bitten by a spider. Knowing she should not move for it would spread the venom, Alex simply lay there, hoping that the food would last and the herbs would heal her. Near death, unable to move and starving, she was forced to reach what rats she could with her blades and survive on the protein they provided. Prone with tears streaming down to fall beneath her head mingling with the sewage that ensconced her Alex was miserable. The stench while horrid made her realize that if she cared about the smell she must be getting better. Sitting up to tend to her leg , it appeared to be healing and the swelling was going down, though it still hurt terribly. Alex knew that she needed to go to the surface to seek someone to aid in her healing and get some food to sustain her. Not knowing where she was and after days of being incoherent she can barely remember from whence she came, only that she cannot go back, for she is hunted and will remain on the run. Knowing full well her surname was widely heard of she decided then and there to leave it behind with the bodies in her wake and take up the name of the thing that almost killed her, to remind her of what she has suffered and that she will never... ever, be that low again.. no matter what she has to do.
