{Battle of Neraka, 25 years ago}

Vandire rests uneasy on his horse, trotting it over to the cliff that oversaw Kelthus' horde of Sargonnian warriors. Bloodthirsty beasts he thought to himself, but nonetheless vicious and efficient in combat as his zealous crusaders.

He dismounted from his steed, and went to gaze upon the thousands of cultists below, knowing this will be one of the bloodiest battles he has ever fought in the name of Jolith.

He was confident however, that his faith will win the day, as warriors gathered behind him, from simple solamnic militiamen, to courageous paladins who all pledged alligience to his crusade.

Wanting to fight Kelthus on foot rather then horseback, he ordered for them to march forward. The crusading army obediently followed his command, and they ready their weapons and armor for the battle that would take place in the blasted wastes of Neraka.

Kelthus' horde being more chaotic and unruly, simply charged into battle as their dark champion screamed a bloodlust roar at his old foe, knowing the fact that he once did the same to the Dark Queen's forces when he was still a solamnic squire...

(Battle at the Nerakan Plains)

The skirmish lasted for hours, as soldier after soldier fell to heaped masses on the ground, riddled with stab holes and arrows from volleys that came from the sky as the battle progressed.

It soon came to a stalemate, with Vandire facing off Kelthus at a plateau above the battlefield. They clashed weapons and shouted curses at each other, until one of them held back to speak.

"Foolish mortal..." Kelthus growled. "Sargonnas -will- prevail, and I will ascend to a being more powerful than you could possibly imagine..."

Vandire merely wiped the blood off of his mouth that was spilling out, and gives out a short grunt. "You never were the disciplined one Kelthus... The knights of the sword trusted you with their faith....Jolith trusted you."

"The Emperor is a mere weakling compared to the power of the god of wrath! His cleansing fire will burn your unworthly souls once Chemosh claims you into his realm... Jolith be damned!"

(Vandire and Kelthus face off on top of a cliff, away from the rest of the carnage.)

Vandire went into a fit of anger, and roared a battlecry, charging with his hammer behind him, while Kelthus brought his shield up and charged at the same time.

Noone know the outcome of the battle, or the fate of Vandire and Kelthus, as their endeavours became mere legend to the common folk of Krynn. As time passed, bards spoke stories about the crusade, artists bring it to life with their work, and rumor has it that a few scholars were veteran warpriests who enlisted in Vandire's regime, hoping to come back alive, and tell the true story about the war.

One unconfirmed story tells about Vandire's son who walks the land of Ansalon, as a priest, preaching the will of Jolith, just like his father did many years ago.
