if you are talking about random chatter and/or negative posts, yes they have been removed. I did not want any new players coming here and getting a negative feel for the server. but i guess that doesnt matter now. but anyway, i did not remove anything that was someone's story or background or anything of that nature. i wouldnt want it done to me so did not do it to others. hope this answers some questions. and as for the server being down. it was a long time coming and everyone contributed to that including myself and sith. hope everyone is well and having fun somewhere else. i dont know what else to say on the matter. shit has been said about dlco behind our backs and rumors and outright lies have been spatted but that is all fine and dandy. this place was a sinking ship anyway, im tired of bailing out the water. samm and scorp, thanks for building dlco and a few other things, have fun with your new version. PEACE.

So in other words, it's down for good. Dandy.

But have to appreciate the optimism. No bad posts for new players. If only the old ones would even read them.

Just because I haven't commented, do not assume that I have not read, its just that I have nothing to add.
I am here..I have no possible comment for "things" being said by "people". I am sure conversations went on that not all of us were privy to, but, not having been there, I can't say what my opinion would be in such unsaid matters.
Am I clear?

I would be, but since this is a "sinking ship" and the captains have already saved themselves, I think it's time for us rats to swim "somewhere else".

Well i gotta say im really dis appointed with Sith and Des, and ill explain why.

Solinari Samm had r/l issues a few years ago, hosting became difficult, and the mod passed to me.
I did what i could, ran things how i felt were best, but it wasnt enough some people. i was critisized behind my back.. slandered by people in game when they were not aware i was in as a DM,, So i took the decision to pass the mod to Solstice.
Solstice worked hard to keep players happy but the same complaining and bickering carried on,, And in addition Solstice had some R/L issues far more important than a game.. so the mod passed to Sith..

And now, Sith and Des are tired of the bickering so they pull the plug.. If you ask me, thats a little bit selfish.. I hosted the mod,, did all i could to appease the players that wanted my head.. I have even returned and continued to play here knowing and having seen several of the comments made about NOT WANTING ME TO BE ANY PART OF THE ADMIN AGAIN..

Pass the mod on to a host. you might have given up on DLCO,, but many others havent..

SITH.. you begged me for the mod when i was getting all the crap cos you wanted so bad to keep DLCO going... Now is your chance to show whether that was a good decision by me,, or a piss poor one..

Copies of the mod before all the errors and crap were added, are sitting in a folder on my computer right now.. I still have all the versions i sent you.. but i just wanna see if you got a pair big enough to stand up and do whats right, and whats fair to the players.. Cos right now the players are the only thing important,, not how i feel,, and certainly not how you feel..

Make the call..

..

Let's see.. I have a module and server vault from April 25, 2009.

If someone wanted to host it, I could send both over MSN. *shrugs* It wouldn't have alot of changes or all the scripts, and new PC's would be missing.

But if Rider is around still, he can fix it like he's done before.

Rider is the one who has done most of the work lately (and hell of a lot of it) and I seriously hate that most of his work went down the toilet with this. Also, what's most important to players is the vault that holds all the toons. Everything else can be fixed but toons are the most important thing to players as I see it.

Sorry, but a heavy flew hit me and I'm still not through with it - I was too weak to post it. So I (=Rider) was kind of absent again, BUT: I'M STILL HERE.

Just an info: I do have the latest version 2.89b. Sith was going to do some work to it, but I don't know, how far he has gotten and if that version was hosted. I don't have the most recent vault.

BUT that is probably the smallest of the concerns right now...

PostSubject: Re: Forum use and missing posts   Tue Oct 13, 2009 1:55 pm

I think alot of this has to do with some talk that has been going on in the background about a side project, I will try to clear some things up.

1) it is true that Scorp, Myself and others are developing a new dlco....tentatively called DLCR (dragonlance chronicles reborn)

2) the chief reasons for my desire to do this are:

a) new CEP, CTP and misc. haks have been developed and are available now that never were before, inlcuding NWN2 reskinned placeables.

b) it was always the plan in the old days to develop a sequal to this mod or at the very least rework this mod to make use of newer tilesets and haks.

c) DLCO as it is now is a bit of a time bomb, the c.r.a.p haks are not being supported anymore, the c.r.a.p community does not excist formally anymore, this means that for any new CEP or NWN update c.r.a.p will fall further out of use, and will cause many conflicts with other haks.

d) most of what c.r.a.p did is now available in the CEP, or in better bundled haks

e) it is my feeling that many of the changes that were made to the mod after mine and scorps depatures are making the mod more powergaming than rping, not going to deny that part either, though i don't see that there is any personal afront in this, sith, des, solstice and whoever else did what they had to do to keep DLCO going and deserve all credit for that, not a bunch of flak.

3) I have had discussions with sith, des, scorp, john, rider, and several others about a new project, and everyone seems to be on the same page about it, but the recent developments on the forums and IG are showing that there are alot of personal issues going on. for my part I apologize for my absence over the past weeks, i tend to get very focused on a goal, and have been spending this time making a new basemod, testing testing and more testing......

as to all this talk of bickering and who said what to who, I think it is, or should be behind us all now and what we really need to do is get DLCO back up, continue to make improvements to it, continue to aggresively grow the community and to be set for a switchover in a few months.

I am purposeley making the new mod's design to be reflective of DLCO as it is now, so players old and new are not going to wonder where things are, it will just look alot better and work alot better.

I may receive some criticism for forging ahead with a new mod, which some are viewing as an act of attrition, basically i am taking over and removing power and authority from the hands of those that have kept this server going. that is not my intent, but at the same time I do believe, humbly, that I am the right man for the job to lead a new build, any who remember my build/mod leadership in the past know that i am fair, respectful, and have some good plans and strategies for leading a mod build.

there has been some contention about what the make up of the DM staff will be, who leads, who can be on it, I will not go into those details because i find that whole topic silly and it just needs to work itself out.

lets keep this discussion going, lets get all to wiegh in and see where the community stands.

ummmm.... hold on a second!

MyOwnDestiny does not speak for me, I do that for myself.

I told everyone a little bit ago I was going to be taking time away from the game and the forums. I was getting stressed due to situations that are no ones concerns but my own. My infant son has a sickness, that requires attention, and can be life threatening if not watched over, so I was away. If I am viewed as selfish for that reason, then so be it. I will accept the title with pride, and make no appologies.

However, Des spoke out of turn. I have not decided to keep the server down completely. There have only been three players, namely Egotroll, Tiny and Numbbie; in game recently. They get in for a few hours, and then leave. Then I dont see anyone else in the server for the rest of the day. I watched for a few days and it was the same thing everyday. I do sincerely appologize to everyone if the server was down, however I have a 300 dollar electric bill, a 150 cable/net bill; rent; food; and medical bills to pay, and I wont be able to pay them unless I squat and money miraculously drops from my you know what.

I took the server down for these reasons, and because as des said, and a few others have said to me, the server was dying it seemed. If the server was being abandoned, why incur more of an electric bill? If people want to get back in game, then I will put it up.

It has nothing to do with the new Mod being developed by Samm. I was supposed to be a part of that, however, I have heard nothing about it for almost two weeks. I did say I would keep DLCO going until the new mod was ready, but can I afford the cost of keeping it going, when no one logs in? It is like wasting money, and can anyone else say they would just run up there bill for no reason? Someone needs to let me know something.

And yes, I can agree Samm is the right person to create the new mod. I am new to building and still learning. I do not even dare to presume to be able to do a better job than Samm, or Rider. Thats why Rider was building and all that stuff. He is great at it as well.

sith,

as to the bill, i can help out a bit, and whoever else can should as well, 5 bucks or 10 bucks from a few pps would fix this a bit. and you deserve that support.

you are right of course too, when no one is logging in what is the point, and I personally would feel bad and hurt a bit because it is abandonment.

I am sorry for being absent, as i said, i get so one track minded.

there are many others who can host part time, maybe the solution for DLCO for now is to get a rotating hosting deal with several players and dms? but the most important thing is that we use this time now to recruit players, dms and anyone else, get them involved before the new mod comes on line....

this is a community and a team, players, builders and dms alike, and we are going to treat this like marines do, "leave no player behind", i think if we can get aggressive about getting our server population up then we are going to make an epic rp community.

and btw, i really need to get some skull crushing in, i hear the call of my mino warrior, in my sleep even......lol

For 2 weeks it was mostly just me, Tiny and Numbbie around and most of the days we were online from 5 to 10 hours per day. It gets frustrating to be alone there, but still we continued.

I know it was just you three Teddy, and much gratitude to you for that. As foir Tiny's post about the Captains "Abandoning Ship". That is BS. I have been here through alot of this crap, and I am still here, waiting for people to say they want the server back. If people dont want to play then there is no point to keeping the server going. If there is demand, then there will be satisfaction.
