IT IS TIME TO GET BACK TO ROLE PLAY FUN!

If a player has an idea that they would like to pursue for their toon, or to get their toon involved in some of the pre-existing plots we currently have going, then all players need to do; is let it be known. Create a RP post in the RP post section of the forums, and send a PM to Either me, or Clotho; explaining your view point. I am certain that something can be done for you to have a good time advancing your toons story, and make up in the world. Please remember though, it should be within Reason. Asking for your toon to become a god, is NOT going to happen. No player toon is a god in DLCO:Dragonlance Legends. If you want to RP your toon as a god, then you can. It just means your toon is brash and arrogant. Likely, a god may take offence to your attitude, and we as DM staff can more than willingly accomodate your toons need to battle the gods.

Remember, this is Dragonlance. In the Dragonlance seting, the gods DO NOT need people to worship them to be powerful, like the gods of the Forgotten Realms setting do. The gods, in our alternate timeline, just as in the true history of the lance, have only recently returned in full to the worlds events; after some centuries of being absent. Many people did not believe the gods had returned, and many of those did not care when they finally did realize it. The gods were gone for so long, and people lived without them. Now, the gods once again take an active hand in the world through their followers. Your Toon does not need to follow a gods teachings, however, there are many benefits in it. As well, Most guilds that a toon joins do have a god favor upon it. Keep this in mind.

I expect the players, to expect the DM's to be above and beyond the norm. The DM's WILL NOT interfere in your personal toons make up. You will be allowed to do as you wish with your toon, as long as it coincides with the server make up.
If your toon one day wakes up and decides the life of a Knight of Solamnia is no longer for him, and is digusted with the way things are; and you choose to throw off the armor of the order, then do so. Walk the land helping the poor and weak against tyranny, outside the influence of the Knights. Perhaps join a merc company, or in the extreme case, your toon could be traumatized and turn into something twisted and wicked. Then become a force for evil and destruction; or vise versa. If you have a Wizard of High Sorcery, walking among the tower, and decide that you are fed up; and want to walk away to become a renegade; then do so. Your toon is yours to build, and shape into what you become. However, we as DM's will look for ways to bring consequences of the toons actions upon them. Just like life. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. It shall all be apart of the RP story for your toon. A way for us to HELP you shape and mold your toon into what you want. But we are not going to tell you that you are not allowed to do something with your toon, unless it does not coincide with the server rules, or is absolutely unrealistic. In other words, your toon can become a madman bent on destroying everything he comes across, but you will not be allowed to just walk up and attack someone without an instigation point. Most likely through heated arguments in RP. Hostiles must be set first and all that good Jazz. As well, your toon is not going to be morphed permanently into a Dragon to live out the rest of it's days.

We as DM's are here to help you have a fun gaming experience. When we can, weill set up adventures, and quests for groups of toons, as well set up other toons to be the antagonists. Every Major Guild i.e. the KoS, The DA, and the ToHS; all have subsections in the own categories for players to post their toons applications for entry into that Guild. If your toon wants to join one of the guilds; then post your intent. The DM staff is going to start checking the categories for these applications, and do our best to meet you in game and get you started. We cannot however, be on 24/7. We all have personal lives away from the computer. So please be patient. Every Guild has applicant requirements as well that need be met. We will make sure the toon does in fact meet these, before we begin the process of admitting.

As I said, DM's will not interfere and tell your toon what they can and cannot do, unless it does not fit with the server. DM's may not like your idea, but it is not our job to determine your toons story based on our feelings of it. We will do our best to aid you, but we are not going to devote all our time on your toon alone. As always. My PM box is open, and I check it several times a day. Solstice is busy with other things at the moment. Both server issues, and RL. So I am taking the more direct hand, to give her the space to operate the server, and build it up more. Ideas, and complaints are to be directed to me, not her. I will see to them as I get them, and will work to solve the issue in the best manner for all parties. If the resolved issue is not something you want, then it is something that will just have be accepted. I am not going to take copmplaints or wishes for a toon, and just change everything in order to simply accomodate your every fancy. The server is for every player; so sensibility and reason will be needed here. That is my pledge to the players. I will not allow players to be bullied, or pushed into something they do not want by another player, or staff; and every attempt will be made; within reason, to give you a fun experience here.
But remember, the gods of Krynn may call upon their followers for certain reasons. If you do not want your toon to go that way, you do not have to walk your toon along that path; but you have to be willing to accept the consequences of telling your god "No".

I expect the players to behave themselves according to the rules. That means no rampaging your Level 40 toon through a town and killing everybody just because you are having a bad day. The rules may change completely, or be revised slightly. I may even decided to abolish a rule all together, but until they do change, they need to be followed.
Sometimes, the rules can be bent, or even slightly broken to fit the adventure, and fun level of the game. But there shall be no outright smashing of the rules just because you want to. We have an ooc jail for offenders. We can, and will put you there if we feel your toon is grossly breaking the rules for the hell of it. Basically, if you act like you are in pre-school, you get a time out, until we feel you are ready to go back. If you decide to log out, then you can, or if you decide to leave the server entirely, you may. The server has survived before. This statement may offend some, but that just ells me the ones offended, are the ones that we need to watch.

Role Play is the most integral part of this server. No toon can advance it's story, and future make up, without the Role play behind it. To advance you toon in a guild, the the RP is a must. You wont advance without it. Keep that in mind. You are more than welcome to grind your toon to level 40 without RP. But that will just get you left out of the good stuff that is mind for the near future.
If your toon is aloner in the beginning, that is fine. But in the ime before lvl 40 comes, perhaps you have opened up, and made friends along the way, or enemies? If your toon is a loner in the beginning, and the middle, then he will be a loner at the end. Thats how I see it.

Special Items are given for the top guild positions. Each Guild has it's own unique items meant for the leadership of the guild. If you want to gain special items outside the regular guild gear, then you have to earn it through RP. As well, Custom Items can be earned and purchased through RP tokens. RP tokens are not given out for sitting in an inn discussing the weather. Theye are given for good RP designed to advance your toon. If you have an idea for a custom item, or feat, then send me, ADM Azmodeus; a PM listing it's properties. I ask that you make it real, and not overpowered. Guild gear is more powerful than regular items for a reason. Having everyone running around with items that equal guild gear, defeats the purpose. When I get the PM about the item. I shall tally up the RP token value it will cost, and the GP value as well, and get with you. If you have the required tokens and gold, then we will discuss it among the staff, and work to getting you the item or feat. We will work something out for you to RP the items into your possesion, or feat you learned. If you want the custom item, and you RP towards it from the start, then when you can afford it, you will have earned it, without jumping through hoops. The listing for RP tokens has been updated to more fit with properties.

At no time, are players to Disregard the DM's. If a DM does something you feel innappropriate, then get a screen shot of the whole event(print scrn key) and send it in a PM to me. I shall look into the matter, and get the issue resolved as quickly as possible. If I am the problem, then ADM Solstice is to be consulted on it. However, do not argue with the DM in game. All it will do is get you put in time out, or booted. The ADM's are here for a reason. DO NOT take matters into your own hand. DM's will be getting screen shots of players actions to support the corresponding rule violations and punishments of the players.

Lets all try to have fun, and get along. You do not have to like the player controlling the toon, but it is just a game. Respect other peoples wishes, and ask them to respect yours. You have options to resolve issues. Use them at your will. We are here for you, and each other.
